Bombadil is a pop rock band from Durham, North Carolina which has released nine albums and three EPs and toured across the world. Their melodic sound incorporates vocal harmonies, guitar, drums, clarinet, synthesizers and various effects. For the last two years, the band has toured with contemporary dancer Madison Via Rivis who has choreographed movements for herself and the band. During the show, the three members move between playing instruments and dancing. They are working on a new album in close collaboration with Rivis, the material developed for an evening length performance of story, song and dance. There are hip-hop dance routines with drum loops and quiet ballads with precise gestures inspired by the Martha Graham technique, all culminating in a celebration of life that highlights the importance of overcoming great obstacles and avoiding despair in the face of looming evil forces.
